ECD participated in this years’ Open House Green Sky Studios event on 25 and 26 September. The event launched a brand new two-year campaign developed by Open House to support and promote sustainability as an integral part of design excellence. Open House (www.londonopenhouse.org) is an architecture education charity committed to raising the standard of London’s built environment.

Highlighting the latest thinking in green design, this pioneering programme provides a vital platform for both London’s up-and-coming and established architects to show their commitment to sustainable design to other professionals and to design-conscious Londoners, including potential clients.

ECD was one of 25 architectural practices around London who opened their doors to the public to showcase examples of innovation in sustainable design. Mark Elton, ECD Head of Sustainability hosted two presentations for the event featuring ECD’s award winning Wolseley UK Sustainable Building Centre, and Exemplar refurbishment projects currently being undertaken by the practice for Hyde Housing Association and the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham.

We had a good turnout of visitors and staff on both days. Thanks to all that participated.
