Brief: To provide additional four classrooms, nursery multi purpose hall, library, ICT suite and remodelling of existing building
Sustainability Initiatives: 10% renewable energy supplied by new ground source heat pump, natural ventilation using clerestory windows and utilising air cooled by an underground ducted system. Low embodied energy materials, intelligent lighting controls all to achieve BREEAM excellent


In light of falling rolls Rockmount School is to amalgamate with a neighbouring primary school. The proposals show the refectory hall, general office, reception and administration spaces relocated to better serve the needs of the extended school. The nursery and infants extension is clustered around an atrium and court space to form a horse-shoe. A through lift and ramps are provided to allow full access to all the proposed accommodation and the majority of the existing school.
