Brief: A new building to accommodate language departments
Sustainability Initiatives: moveable solar shading, night cooling, thermal mass


The three storey building consists mainly of cellular offices for Faculty staff together with seminar rooms, language laboratories and a café. The U shape plan creates a south facing green space which relates to the student union opposite. Motorised flaps on the external wall at floor level open at night to cool the structure.
