This site formed part of the masterplan for the regeneration of Hulme. The design concept was based on three urban blocks, creating a traditional street pattern and responding to the Urban Design Code, which developed from the masterplan. The scheme was completed in 1997 and is cited in 'Better Places to live - a companion guide to PPG3' as an exemplar of good urban design.
